Most people would consider me crazy for continuing to workout as much as I do while pregnant. I think I would go insane if I decreased my workouts more than I did. Now you're wondering, "how much does this crazy gal workout?" Well, you're in luck! Here's my round about week of working out...
Monday- 1 hour ride in the morning, 10 mile run (dreadmill) in the afternoon
Tuesday- 2 hour ride
Wednesday- 1.5 hour ride and a 3-4 mile run
Thursday- 1.5 hour ride (slow because my previous school days are LONG)
Friday- 1.5 hour ride 3-4 mile run
Saturday- 3.5 hour ride, 2 mile run
I have had to slow down a bit. 30-weeks pregnant I did my last 10-miler at 7:30 pace, but I think I'm going to slow it down a little more this week. My HR and RPE are creeping up. I still am able to have my HR around 150 or lower. Really they say that HR doesn't even matter any more it's all about perceived exertion and I'm can to talk the whole time.
Other than having to slow down a bit during workouts, eating EVERYTHING in site that I can lay my hands on (seriously I eat every 30 minutes at least), legs swelling, nausea, not being able to move around as well, just feeling blah most of the time, exhausted beyond belief, etc. I feel great. So, when people ask me how I'm feeling, I just say great, because I feel PREGNANT how else do you think I feel? I don't understand women who enjoy being pregnant! I do hear it's all worth it in the end...
A little more of a pregnant woman's rant... Why do people think it's all the sudden ok to ask you your weight and how much you've gained? Why do people feel the need to comment consistently on how you look or "size" you up and tell you their "professional" opinion. Also, I don't want to hear you're birthing story unless it was wonderful and peaceful and full of butterflies and rainbows. How is telling me your horror story going to help me feel any better even if you do say... but it's worth it in the end. I know I might do some or all of this stuff when I'm not pregnant but I'm definitely going to try not to. Maybe I'm different and weird and just don't like those things...
Maybe this is just the pregnancy/ tiredness talking... time for this pregnant women to try to get in some sort of position to fall asleep, then wake up 3 times... but they're worth it... let's sure hope!
